Mount Arrowsmith Skating Club will host its annual skating carnival on Saturday, April 2 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Alberni Valley Multiplex. This year’s theme is “Once Upon a Holiday”.

In addition to the gala numbers the club’s members have been working on, MASC has invited guest skater Nam Nguyen from Vancouver.

Nguyen, 12, trains at the BC Centre of Excellence in Burnaby. Last year he participated in 2010 Winter Olympic celebrations in Richmond.

Nguyen has the distinction of being the youngest national juvenile men’s champion in Canada, winning the title at the Canadian Figure Skating Championships when he was just eight years old.

Tickets to April’s skating gala are available at Deb’s Fashions, Extra Foods and the skating office by phone at 250-720-8999.
