Wong hoops weekend in Alberni

The second annual Lemi Wong basketball tourney is this weekend in Alberni.

Hoops season in the Alberni Valley isn’t just around the corner anymore — it’s here.

The Alberni Athletic Hall on Roger Street is hosting the Lemi Wong open invitational tournament this weekend.

The 13-team mens’ and womens’ teams tournament runs from Nov. 11-13.

The Alberni District Secondary School rugby team is hosting a tennis ball throw as a fundraiser.
