The Alberni Valley Community Foundation is inviting non-profit groups to apply for several different grants, including some from the Vancouver Foundation and others from a Canada 150 Community Fund designed to help celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary.
“We have $15,000 allocated to our foundation,” explained AVCF spokesperson Hugh Grist. “Groups can apply for matching funds for a project that meets criteria.”
Right now, Grist is looking for letters of inquiry.
The Canada 150 fund is looking for projects that build community, inspire a deeper understanding of Canada and encourage participation in a wide range of initiatives that mark Canada’s 150th anniversary.
The Vancouver Foundation has development grants available for environment and animal welfare, and health and social development projects. There are a variety of grant totals available.
The deadline is the end of the April. For more information, please call Hugh Grist at 250-724-4503 or e-mail hughgrist@hotmail.com.
