The annual Mt. Klitsa Garden Club plant sale was a hit, club members said. The sale took place on Saturday, May 11 at the Alberni Athletic Hall and tied in well with the Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley’s annual giant book sale at the same time.
Knowing that Vancouver Island is likely to have a very dry year, some visitors headed for the succulents—which take less water to keep alive—and there were many to choose from. There were also house plants, trees and more. The event also featured several draw prizes.
Many, like the Warrender family, found exactly what they wanted: mom Megan and children Makayla and Nathan left with two trays of plants at the pre-Mother’s Day event.
