Port Alberni celebrates literacy

Event drew more than 100 people to the Echo Centre

A Family Literacy Day event in Port Alberni drew more than 100 people to the Echo Centre.

Children and their families had plenty of fun at the event on Feb. 3, which was hosted by the City of Port Alberni, the Alberni Valley Child & Youth Network and community partners.

There were the veggie sliders to eat, a corn hole game, a special area for babies, cedar vials, crafts, Sharky and his balloon magic, free books, librarian Kaitlin Parker reading books for the children and so much more.
