Timbre! needs new members

Timbre! Choir invites you to join as it begins its 39th season.

Three concerts are scheduled for this year with a variety of music, from contemporary to classical.

Rehearsals begin Monday, Sept.12 at 7 p.m.

Tia Parker is the name

of the name of the exhibit now on display at the Rollin Art Centre.

Come view this collection of Tia’s work combining modern indigenous and abstract acrylic paintings.

Tia paints out of necessity. She finds peace in expressing what is in her soul onto canvas. We all have Our Song, which is our souls path in this lifetime, and painting and creating is Tia’s song”.

The exhibit runs until Sept. 14, from Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission to the wheelchair accessible gallery is free.

Elissa Hartman in concert

Nominated for song of the year in 2011 at the Vancouver Island Music Awards.

Ellisa Hartman will be in concert at Char’s Landing Friday Aug. 26. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Glee and Wee Glee returns to Port Alber-ni

The Capitol Glee and Wee-Glee Singers are back again at the Capitol Theatre for the new season on Sept. 15.

This is an exciting opportunity for children to sing, dance and perform rock, pop and classics in a theatre setting.

Both the Wee-Glees (ages 4-8) and the Capitol Glees (ages 9-12) put on two shows. No auditions are required.

If you love to sing, dance and perform, register now, however space is limited.
