Bassist Lister joins Alberni choir for spring show

On Sunday, April 30 at ADSS Theatre, Timbre! Choir presents “With a Song in Our Hearts”. Timbre! will be joined by several special guests including Ken Lister, a professional jazz bassist since 1983.

On Sunday, April 30 at ADSS Theatre, Timbre! Choir presents “With a Song in Our Hearts”. Timbre! will be joined by several special guests including Ken Lister, a professional jazz bassist since 1983.

Lister has won many accolades and Juno awards along the way. He currently performs in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island and has toured across Canada and internationally to Australia, the British Isles, Cuba and South America.

As a member of the Phil Dwyer Orchestra, Ken won a Juno Award for Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year, 2012, and with the Hugh Fraser Quintet, the Juno Award for the Best Mainstream Jazz Album of 1997.

Ken now lives in Qualicum Beach, teaching privately from his home studio and at Vancouver Island University as well.

Other special guests of local note include Danielle Marcinek on piano, Graham Villette on drums and Kiara McNaught on flute.

Tickets are on sale at Echo Centre, Finishing Touches, Rollin Art Centre, Salmonberry’s and at the door if available. Adults/Seniors - $20 and Students (under 18)/Children - $5.
