Musician and raconteur Kristina Olsen will be bringing a performance and a dance workshop to Port Alberni.

Raised in the 1960s into the hot bed of counter culture in Haight-Asbury, San Francisco, Olsen is a first class songsmith, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. Her songs have been recorded by artists such as Eric Bibb, Fairport Convention, Maddy Prior, Mary Coughlan and Mollie O’Brien.

Olsen tours worldwide and is now heading to Char’s Landing in Port Alberni with her raw crushed velvet voice, wicked slide blues, gut wrenching ballads and hilarious stories.

She will perform on Friday, March 8 at Char’s Landing at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.). But she will also be sharing her finely-honed skills in a different vein the following day, teaching a universal lead and follow dance workshop on Saturday, March 9. The dance workshop will also take place at Char’s Landing, this time at 2 p.m.
