Spanish guitarist plays blues, folk at Char’s

Claude Bourbon will serenade audiences with his finger-picking guitar style on April 22.

Medieval and Spanish blues, finger-picking guitarist Claude Bourbon will bring his Anthology Tour to Char’s Landing on Saturday, April 22.

Bourbon is known throughout Europe and America for his outstanding guitar performances that take blues, Spanish, Middle Eastern and Russian stylings into uncharted territories. Each year Bourbon plays more than 100 shows around the world. Born in France in the early 60s, Bourbon grew up in Switzerland, where he was classically trained for many years.

This finger picking guitarist has performed and studied all over the world; he has crafted an unbelievable fusion of classical and jazz, with ethereal Eastern influences, Spanish and Latin elements with strains of Western folk. Bourbon’s inimitable style incorporates all five digits on each hand dancing independently but in unison, plucking, picking and strumming at such speed and precision that his fingers often seem to melt into a blur.

Thousands of people in the UK, Europe and USA have enjoyed listening to this virtuoso and for the majority of his audience it is an experience that compels them to return again and again to hear and watch him play, as his fingers lightly dance over the strings of his guitar and create a unique sound that is ‘Claude’.

The show beings at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $15 in advance at Char’s or by calling 778-421-2427, or $20 at the door. Seniors and kids are $15.
