Words on fire returns to Port Alberni

'Words on Fire' runs for a third year in Alberni.

Words on Fire returns to  Char’s Landing on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

This successful spoken word event continues for it’s third season. Original works by poets, storytellers, novelists and songwriters are read at the open mike portion, which starts at 7 p.m.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with music by pianist Sandy Bouleau.

The featured reader this month is Linda Thompson. Well known for both prose and poetry, she has read at both Nanaimo’s Wordstorm and Port Alberni’s Words in the Woods.

Thompson has won numerous awards and been published in Quills, Emerging Stars, and chapbooks edited by Patrick Lane.

The $5 admission fee includes coffee and goodies and there is a draw for free admittance at the next Words on Fire.

Char’s Landing is located on Argyle Street across from Port Alberni City Hall.
