Island Health warns that the main entrance to West Coast General Hospital (WCGH) in Port Alberni will be temporarily relocated for one day this week.

The hospital’s main entrance will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 to allow for replacement of the doors.

During this time, Island Health says people will be redirected to the entrance on the east side of the building. There will be signage around the area directing people to the entrance and the “Island Health Ambassador” station will also be relocated to the alternate entrance to support patients who may have questions or require assistance.

Access to the emergency department will continue as normal.
