One person is dead and another is injured after a stabbing in downtown Victoria over the Easter long weekend, say Victoria police.

Officers were called around 4 a.m. Sunday (March 31) for a report of a stabbing in the 700-block of Pandora Avenue, according to a release from VicPD.

When officers arrived, they found a deceased male and another person who had non-life-threatening injuries. The second victim was taken to hospital.

One person has been taken into custody, but charges have not yet been laid.

VicPD say the stabbing is under investigation by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crimes Unit, “and further details cannot be shared at this time.”
