ACRD ponders fire plan

Alberni Clayoquot Regional District officials are mulling over a report on the Sproat Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

The plan was produced by consultant Dugal Smith, and examined recruiting, fire hall futures and operations.

Recommendations include appointing a recruitment officer and budgeting $15,000 per year for recruitment.  Budgeting $15,000 annually for public education. Reducing to one central firehall from three.

No decision has been made on the report, which is available for the public at the ACRD office.
