ALBERNI ELECTION: McRae defeated; Douglas the new mayor

John Douglas has unseated longtime Port Alberni mayor Ken McRae in today's municipal election.

John Douglas has defeated Ken McRae in Port Alberni's mayoral race.

Douglas collected a total of 2,556 votes to unseat McRae. McRae's numbers were unavailable.

Winning council seats are the three incumbents, Cindy Solda, Jack McLeman and Hira Chopra, along with former councillor Dan Washington. Two new faces to council are Rob Cole and Wendy Kerr.
