Vancouver, B.C. – A group play ritual for three Port Alberni co-workers has really paid off. Julie Pike, Erika Loiselle and Elsie Crosby are ecstatic to find out they’ve won the Guaranteed $1million Lotto 6/49 jackpot from the Feb. 22 draw.

Loiselle purchased the ticket at the Redford Street 7-Eleven on Friday, while treating her children to Slurpees. Having played together for several months, she and her co-workers have a tradition of choosing a selection each, all three selections based on birthdays.

The group didn’t give the ticket a second thought until the community of Port Alberni began buzzing with news there was a winner amongst them. Julie called Erika to see if their ticket had been checked.

“I went back to the 7-Eleven to find out if we were the lucky ones,” Erika recalls, grinning ear to ear.

“When the screen lit up indicating we’d won, the sales clerk and I stared at one another in shock. Finally she told me I would have to call BCLC and I did!”
