An investigation is still ongoing after the Gas Bar at No Frills was the victim of a break, enter and theft this weekend.

On Sunday, Feb. 19 at approximately 4 a.m., an alarm was activated at Tyler's No Frills Gas Station located in the 3400 block of Johnston Rd.

An unknown man had driven up to the gas bar in a light coloured sedan. He exited the vehicle then broke through the front glass door, as well as the glass window separating the customer and employee areas of the store to access the cigarette display. The suspect then proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cigarettes before fleeing the scene in the sedan prior to police arrival.

The investigation is ongoing. If anyone witnessed the event or has information on who is responsible, they are asked to contact the Port Alberni RCMP at 250-723-2424 or call Alberni Valley Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
