Port Alberni RCMP search for suspect in Maebelle Road hit and run

Port Alberni RCMP are seeking the suspect involved in a hit and run on Maebelle Road on March 2.

Port Alberni RCMP are investigating a hit and run crash that occurred on Thursday, March 2 at about 11 a.m.

A green Hyundai Accent had stopped on Maebelle Road and was waiting to turn right onto Highway 4 when it was rear-ended by another vehicle. The driver of the Hyundai pulled over and stopped to speak with the other driver but the offending vehicle left the scene without stopping. The occupants of the Hyundai were not injured and damage to their car was minimal.

The suspect vehicle is described as an older, dark purple Sedan with an “N” on the back of the car. The vehicle was driven by a caucasian woman, between 20 and 30 years old with dark hair. There was also a woman passenger in the front seat. Police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle and other vehicles that were present in the area at the time of the crash left before they could provide any information on their observations.
