In Loving Memory ~
Boie O. Myhre, age 90, of Port Alberni, BC passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 24, 2023.
Predeceased by wife of 54 years marriage Mae; sister-in-law Pam and step daughter Kelly Urry
Survived by wife Lesley; daughter Leanne (Harold), sons Ollie and Graham; grandchildren Danielle (Kris) and Hailee (Evan); brother Maurice; stepson Roy; 5 great grandchildren, as well as other extended family.
Boie was born on the prairies and moved to the island in 1958 going to work in Victoria for BC Forestry working on a reforestation program. He went back to school to become a teacher and arrived in the Valley in 1967 to do his practicum. He fell in love with the valley and was offered a teaching position in ADSS.
Retiring in the mid 1990s, Boie went to work for Medi delivery services to keep himself busy. He enjoyed being involved with his grandchildren and would pick them up from school every day. He liked keeping busy doing what he loved - fishing, hiking and hunting - and enjoyed going to the Alberni Valley Bulldog Saturday home games.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all the nurses and staff at Fir Park Village
A Celebration of Boie's life will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Chapel of Memories Arrowsmith Tea Room.
