Bruce Brown

Bruce passed away peacefully in West Coast General Hospital shortly after noon on February 29 at the age of 72. He was predeceased by his parents Ron and Dorothy Brown. He is survived by his daughter Yvonne and three sisters: Barb of Sequim, Washington State; Kathy of Texas; and Lynn of Toronto.
Bruce was born in Nova Scotia on February 9, 1948. Part of his education included Briarcrest in Saskatchewan and Trinity Western in Langley.
Bruce was an avid fisherman. He guided in Haida Gwaii and Campbell River. But some of his happiest years were spent in Tofino where he operated Smiley Charters. He repeated often that he was so grateful to God for the privilege of earning his living in the scenic waters off Tofino.
A Celebration of Life for Bruce will be held at Grace Point Church, 3072 4th Avenue, Port Alberni on Sunday March 8 at 2 pm. Pastor Rory Franks will be officiating.
