It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wonderful Mother, Carol Savard on April 25, 2024, after months of suffering with cancer, Carol peacefully left this world to join her beloved Neil on his birthday.

Carol was born in Vancouver on May 1, 1946, to Ransom and Carol Fryer. She loved her big brother Fred (Audrey), and sister Beverly. She met the love of her life Neil, at 14 and later married into his incredible family who became her best friends, sisters, and brothers.

Carol's two beautiful children, Brian and Laurie, were born when they lived on an acreage in White Rock. They moved to Port Alberni in 1980 to start at wonderful new life with Carol playing softball, spending summers at the waterski club, and fishing at their family float cabin in Barkley Sound. After retirement Carol and Neil travelled the world, and we loved hearing about all their wonderful adventures and crazy stories. Carol was the best supportive and loving mother any child could wish for. She was involved in everything from cards to the Church and she made a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Carol was thrilled to welcome her beautiful two grandsons, Jordan, and Logan, and was a devoted and doting super Grandma. They treasured every moment with her. She is survived by the joy of her heart, her children - Brian (Shellie) and Laurie (Sean).

There will be a service on May 25 at 11 o'clock at Holy Family Notre Dame Catholic Church in Port Alberni, followed by tea in the church hall.

We would like to deeply thank everyone who cared for her at Comox Valley Hospital, the home care nurses, and the exceptional staff at the Port Alberni Hospice, Ty Watson House.
