August 2, 1932 - March 10, 2017
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father. Charles (Charlie) McCoombs passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Echo Village on March 10, 2017 at the age of 84.
Predeceased by his loving wife Evette and brother Walter, Charlie is survived by sisters Bessie Hennigar and Jessie Wolfe, daughter Doreen (Chris), son Gerald (Tammy), and beloved grandchildren Chelsea, Cloe, Austin, Ciara, Shawna, and Avery.
Charlie was born and raised in Milton/Liverpool, Nova Scotia where he joined the merchant marines. He then moved to Toronto and then to Port Alberni where he met and married the love of his life, Evette. In his retirement he enjoyed camping, travelling, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Our Dad was truly one of a kind and we will miss and love him forever.
We would like to thank the care aids and nurses at Echo Village for the kindness and care they gave our father.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am Friday, March 31st, 2017 at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 4371 Burke Road, Port Alberni, B.C.
