Clarice passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2020, at Echo Village Long Term Care Home. She is survived by her loving husband Holger and two daughters, Tina Stewart of Kingston ON and Lorraine Hoglin of Vancouver BC. A wonderful Grandmother to Michael & Christie Shakespeare, Colin Girard, Beck & Jeda Hoglin and Great-grandmother to Lilith, Matthew and a lot of other family, Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by her loving siblings, Ellen, Astrid, Signe, Lorna, Ivan, Evelyn, Eldyne, Jeanette and all their spouses.
Clarice was born December 17, 1938 in Erickson, MB. Her and her twin Jeanette were the last born, to complete the family of 11. The family made their way to Port Alberni in 1951, where most of the family started a new life on the West Coast. Clarice met the love of her life, Holger, in 1967. She spent most of her years cooking, cleaning and caring for her family and friends, which brought her much joy.
Clarice was an active member of the Alberni Valley, serving the community for many years with the Kiwanis. After retirement, Clarice and Holger enjoyed traveling, especially to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they spent most winters. Clarice will always be remembered by her warm smile, love of dance and gentle soul.
The family would like to thank all the hard-working and kind staff at Echo Village, who took such good care of Clarice over the last year and a half. We will be forever grateful.
