Don, 66, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on February 20, 2024, with family by his side at WCG Hospital in Port Alberni. Born August 22, 1957, in Victoria to Joan and Jim Ball.
Don, a forever devoted husband to his Sweetie, father, bubba & papa, grew up in Victoria and spent most of his adult life in Port Alberni working as a logger. He had many hobbies - woodworking with burls, reading, hunting, fishing, fossilizing & gardening - his passion for these pursuits was only surpassed by his love for his family and cherished grandkids. Fossiling trips and time with friends & family on Hornby Island are what he looked forward to most every summer.
He will be remembered for his laugh, cheeky sense of humour, inappropriate stories, kindness, love of family and ability to brighten any gathering.
Don is survived by his loving wife Dana, son Eric (Gen), daughters Melanie, Alysha, Brooke (Curt), and grandchildren Rylan, Maya and Lukas. Also his siblings Jim (Beth), Barb (John), Dana and Tony (Jo-Anne), many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His spirit will forever roam the forests he loved and live on in his collections and treasures he held close to his heart.

Graveside Service officiated by Gary Cathers will be held Sunday, March 10th at 12:30 pm at Greenwood Cemetery. Celebration of Life to follow, at The Barclay.
