Don passed away peacefully at Stanford Seniors Village, Parksville, BC at the age of 72.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Fran, daughters Caitrin and Samantha (Lee), grandchildren Indira and Kai and his sister Cindy.
Predeceased by his parents Harold and Gloria, and sister Cheryl, he will be missed by nieces Sarah and Melissa, and nephews Jordon (Johanna) and Aaron.
He grew up in Victoria, receiving his BA from UVic in 1968 and his MEd in 1975 from Portland University. His teaching career was in SD 70 at A.W. Neill and VAST in Port Alberni.
Upon retirement many hours were spent hiking with friends and family around his beloved Valley.
During the summers he and Fran RV'd and hiked throughout BC. His motto "So many trails, so little time." was sadly true.
The family wishes to thank Dr. R. Henderson and the staff at Stanford for their kindness and compassion.
Also a special thanks to Sheila Gamache for her care and support.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:30 pm Saturday, October 14 at the Best Western Barclay Hotel, Arrowsmith Room, Port Alberni, BC.
No flowers by request.
