In Loving Memory ~
Ed Hemmingsen passed away in Port Alberni on Thursday, November 3, 2022.
Predeceased by sister Olive, Ed is survived by loving wife of 61 years, Nancy; children Terry (Linda) and Shelley (Pat); grandchildren Jeremy (Jesica) and Brittney (Matt); great grandson Bryson; brother Mark and many friends.
Ed was born and raised in the Alberni Valley. He started with M & B and worked there for 14 years then the Ministry of Transport, where he retired after over 25 years and took up a new hobby of wood carving.
He always had an intense interest in safety. He spent many hours fishing on the Canal, helping others with computer issues and spent many years being involved in the local Sea Cadet Squadron.
For over 14 years, he and Nancy spent winters in Palm Springs.
The family wishes to extend a special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Woodley and staff, Dr Puts. Also all the many nurses who came over and care aides who helped Ed and supported the family with amazing care. The family wishes to also acknowledge the care of Dr. S Kulla in Nanaimo.
A Celebration of Ed's Life will be held 1 - 3pm, on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Lawn Bowling Club, 4255 Wallace St, Port Alberni, BC V9Y 3Y6
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's name may be made to the BC Cancer Society, Diabetes and the Alberni SPCA
