It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emile, brother, and uncle, on December 25, 2023, in Port Alberni, BC, at the age of 73.
Emile is predeceased by his parents, Vincenzo and Maria. He leaves behind his sisters, Connie and Louisa; brother, Gino; nieces Silvana, Marisa, Sabrina (Mike), Megan (Billy) and Jess (Mike), as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
Born in Noyelles-sous-Lens, France, in 1950, he immigrated to Canada with his parents and older sister, Connie, settling in the Alberni Valley in 1956. He worked at the Alberni-Pacific Division (APD) sawmill for many years until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing in his younger years and was an avid soccer fan and player. In his retirement, he enjoyed visiting the casino and taking his daily trip to Tim Horton's.
His nieces recall fondly how he would use his satellite and movie channel subscriptions in the 90s to record movies for them onto VHS tapes, which they would watch and return at Sunday dinners for more.
He was a very supportive uncle, brother, and son, taking care of his elderly parents and ensuring his family members always had what they needed.
He will be dearly missed.
