In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Gerry Tuinstra.
Predeceased by his parents Geert and Jantina Tuinstra and brother-in-law Sven Feville, he is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Darlene, sons, Jeff (Paula) and Larry (Michelle), grandchildren Falan (Steve), Jules (Dayle), Sarah (Curtis) and Allison and great grandchildren Emily, Jake, Devynn, Raina and Daniel as well as his sister Dina Feville and his nephews Steven, Ted (Janet) and Richard.
Gerry was born in the village of Drogeham in the Province of Friesland, Netherlands and immigrated with his family at the age of 15 to begin a better life here, in Canada.
Gerry worked at M&B Alply Division for 38 years until its closure in 1991 after which he became part owner of the "Clocktower Gallery" where he framed pictures until his retirement in 2006.
Gerry always loved spending time with his family, a good beer in hand and some Kris Kristofferson and/or Waylon Jennings playing in the background.
In keeping with Gerry's wishes a private family service and internment will be held at a later date.
When I come to the end of the day,
And the sun has set for me. I want no rites in a gloom filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low. Remember instead the love we shared -
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must go alone. It's all a part of the maker's plan.
A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart,
Go to the friends we know. And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds - Miss me but let me go.
