Lucia Bernstein passed away peacefully at West Coast General Hospital, Port Alberni, BC the morning of June 25, 2019 and has now joined the Angels and her Savior she faithfully served for nearly 95 years.
Lucia was predeceased by her loving husband Rolf and her three grandsons Everett, Manfred and Alex Bernstein. She is survived by her sons Ralph (Liz) and Manfred (Sharon) and her daughter Marina Bernstein of Port Alberni. She loved her grandchildren Brandon (Kyla), Warren and Kristopher (Shaylah) and her two great grandchildren, Makenna and Beckett Bernstein. Born in Stolberg, Germany Lucia immigrated to Canada in 1955 with her three children a year after her husband Rolf immigrated and settled in Port Alberni, BC.
Her passion was cooking and baking, and she loved entertaining family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and needlework along with other various crafts, and to her friends she was fondly known as Momsy or Mrs. B. For many years Lucia was very involved with the Grace Lutheran Church Ladies Aid.
The family of Lucia would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the many caregivers who came to her home daily over the years as well as Dr. Williams, the nurses and staff at West Coast General Hospital, for making her final days comfortable.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday July 19, 2019 at the Grace Lutheran Church , 4408 Redford St, Port Alberni, BC with Pastor Kevin Platz officiating.
