Maria passed away in Port Alberni on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the age of 92 years. Predeceased by husband Alex, daughter-in-law Lois and siblings Anna, Joe, Frank, Jack and John. Maria is survived by her children: Linda (Dale), Jim (Marci), Richard (Debbie); Theresa (John), and step grandchildren Rochelle, Todd (Kristen) and their children; grandchildren Korinn (Adam), Justin (Vanessa); Vicky (Mitch), Brock, step grandson Francis; Jaclynn (Mark), Tricia (Randy) great grandchildren Isla and Emma, siblings George (Georgette), Eva, Dave (Sandra), Lydia (Harry), and sister-in-law Clarice; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Saskatchewan, Maria came to Port Alberni by bus and married Alex in 1947. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker and as well, Maria worked very hard administering A Falconer Trucking, a company Alex started up in 1951. She was also involved in Elim Tabernacle soon after she arrived in Port Alberni until she could no longer attend due to her age. Her love of children saw her involved in teaching Sunday School to the younger children in Elim for over 28 years. Music was part of her family upbringing on the prairies and her love of music, singing and talent for playing guitar carried on throughout her life. Maria sang as part of the Barclay Sounds Choir from its inception all the way until around 2012. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from Elim Tabernacle, 3946 Wallace St, Port Alberni, BC with Pastor Bruce Greenwood officiating.
