In loving memory ~

It is with the absolute heaviest of hearts our family announces the passing of our Mom, Shirley Ann Madelung.

Mom was a living Angel here on Earth who kept this family united building wonderful memories that we all hold near and dear to our hearts. We had to say Good-Bye to our Angel but know she has gone to be with our loved ones in Heaven.

She lived her life for her husband, her everything, Paul of 67 years (together 70); children, Dan (Tracy), Deb (Ian), Connie (Tom), and Sherie (Andy); her nine grandchildren, Kristie (Geoff), Melissa, Steven (Shasta), Brittany (Patrick), Curtis (Jaimee), Crystal, Brandon, Ryan (Megan) and Ashley (Gilbert); along with her ten great-grandchildren plus 2 step grandchildren, Sydney (Nicholas), Colby (Kyah) and her sister, Wanda Williams.

She was predeceased by her parents, Leslie and Ivy Ashcraft, brothers Arnold and Gary, and her great grandson baby Bennett who passed away 2 weeks prior from infant leukemia.

Mom shared fond memories of growing up in Parksville, BC where she met the love of her life, Paul, while working in a café as a waitress. Mom and Dad married in 1957, settled in Port Alberni, raised their four children, and built a successful business together, Circle Dairy.

Our family enjoyed many, many card games. Mom often won with a lot of skill and a little luck. No matter the scores, the game ended with Mom's famous meat and cheese trays with devilled eggs, lots of laughter and lots of fun.

Mom spent many years loving the game of bowling (alley, lawn and carpet) and had many friends in the community that she spent her time with. We know she enjoyed her time with every one of you.

We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Puts, his assistant Dana, and the staff at WCGH. Your compassion and care for our Mom and our family during this difficult time has been greatly appreciated.

Our hearts are broken

and we miss you Mom.

WE LOVE YOU FOREVER AND ALWAYS.
