Verna Richmond

July 25, 1942 - March 24, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Verna on March 24, 2024 at West Coast General Hospital at the age of 81.

She is predeceased by her parents, Nickolas and Katherine Hnennyj; brother Jerry; 1st cousin Olga Grozell; Olga's daughter Christine Guild; father and mother-in-law Tom and Vivian Richmond.

Verna is survived by her husband of 60 years of marriage, Terry; daughter Leah Denis (Rick); son Colby (Kay); grandchildren Joshua (Hayley), Jessica, Nathaniel and Emmerson; nephew Nick Hnennyj (Michelle); sister-in-law Heather Wilson (Ken) and their children Troy and Ken Jr.

Verna attended 8th Ave School and graduated from Alberni District High School in 1960. She married her high school sweetheart in 1963. Verna was an accomplished seamstress/tailor and worked for many years at Woodward's, Ralph's Men's Wear, Jim's Clothes Closet, Bootlegger and Iris'. She was also known by many as the Shacklee Lady.

Thank you for everyone who cared and prayed for her. We can all take comfort knowing that she is now with the Lord who has taken away all her pain and suffering.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00pm, on Friday April 12 at Holy Family Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church with Burial to follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
