Bill passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the age of 73. Predeceased by his wife of 36 years Lois, son Kevin; his parents William and Margaret Zomar; brother John. Bill is survived by his sons Darin (Isa) and Denny (Angie); grandson Reid; brother Bob (Judy); sisters Margie, Judy (Chester), Nancy (Colin) and Debbie (Tom), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Born in Abbotsford, B.C., Bill came to the Alberni Valley in the early 1960s. He worked various odd jobs until he purchased his own company and became the owner of Alberni Valley Paving and Contracting Ltd. in 1977. Bill was extremely proud of his family owned and operated business and enjoyed going to work every day. He also loved playing cards with others at the shop when he had the time. Bill enjoyed traveling to different places and meeting new people. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He will be greatly missed.
