Dec 15, 1930 - Apr 2, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wong Fook Gee announce his passing on April 2, 2018.

Dad, also known as, Fook, Frank, BaBa, Goong Goong, YaYa and Hey Oldman passed away in Fir Park Village at the age of 87. Fook was predeceased by his parents Sing Choon Wong & Hoy Tui Wong.

Dad is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years Shue King, also known as Suzie, NeeNee; 7 loving children, Jean (Davey), Stan, Frank, Michael, Johnny (Sheri), Jerry & Marilyn (Bruno); beloved grandchildren, Susan (Rory), Sandra (Jay), Debbie (Jack), Braeley(Carissa), Brantyn(Emily), Nico & Jaden; and 6 adorable great grandchildren, Alexis, Kaira, Jacob, Dylan, Paige & Ethan.

Born in Toisan, China, dad immigrated to Port Alberni in 1951. Upon arriving, he worked various cooking jobs around town before settling in at the Somass Sawmill as a lumber grader for the remainder of his working career. Dad was one of the original founding members of The Chinese Canadian Society and proudly represented his community.

His fondest memories were of the many hours spent by the water fishing, gathering clams and oysters with his wife, children and friends, and being at home where he could sit on their deck to enjoy the outdoors.

After retirement, he found pleasure in socializing and making his rounds to many of the local coffee shops and Chinese restaurants. But what brought him the most joy was the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Although he spoke often of the homeland he left behind, Oldman's true home was always the Alberni Valley.

A service was held on April 10th, 2018 @12:00pm at The Chapel of Memories and YaYa was laid to rest at Alberni Valley Memorial Gardens.

Special thanks to Fir Park Village and West Coast General Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
