To the Editor,
A recent report that Ottawa is testing a $620,000 stealth snowmobile sent shivers up my spine. Whenever ‘Ottawa’ and ‘stealth’ are used in the same sentence a voice inside my head hollers, “pickpockets!”
No doubt many Canadians have the same reaction after all the tales Prime Minister Harper and his Conservatives fed us about those infamous F-35 stealth jet fighters.
The Department of National Defence has nicknamed their high-tech snow machine after the mythological shape-shifting god ‘Loki’ which seems appropriate.
I can’t help wondering how our Afghanistan veterans, who are getting the bureaucratic runaround, feel about Harper’s willingness to spend $620,000 for a snowmobile.
