To the Editor,
I would like to express my appreciation for Elisabeth Hill and Sarah Emmonds in Alberni District Secondary School’s Social Justice class.
Under the guidance of their teacher, Anne Ostwald, they recently held several fundraising events to purchase gifts for filling Christmas baskets. The baskets were delivered to some of the seniors in town who have no friends or family and must spend Christmas alone.
Such thoughtfulness can make such a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate than most of us.
I hope through sharing this story that more people will reach out to help seniors and others in need in our community.
