The Alberni Valley Bulldogs open their home season this Friday, Sept. 13 with a tailgate party in the parking lot at the AV Multiplex, followed by a game against archrival Nanaimo Clippers at 7 p.m. at Weyerhaeuser Arena.
The Bulldogs are 0-2 after dropping a pair of games at the Bauer BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack last weekend. Penticton Vees edged the ‘Dogs 3-2 in their season opener, then Coquitlam Express went to town with a 9-4 win.
Bulldogs’ fans will get a chance to see the team’s newest player, blueliner Luca Doctor, on ice this Friday.
Doctor was acquired in a trade with Toronto Jr. A Canadiens of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
