Alberni Valley Bulldogs out of playoffs

The Nanaimo Clippers put an end to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs playoff run with a 7-3 win over the ‘Dogs at the Frank Crane Arena on Friday night.

The Bulldogs were outshot right out of the gate with Clippers forward Chris Dodero getting the first goal of the game on a powerplay midway through the first period with assists from Noland Aibel and Gavid Gould.

Clippers forward Sheldon Rempal made it 2-0 with an assist from Devin Brosseau with less than four minutes to go in the first period.

The Bulldogs got the first of their goals five minutes into the second period thanks to forward Eric Margo but the Clippers made the score 3-1 just three minutes later when Will Reilly scored a powerplay goal with assists frm Sheldon Rempal and Yanni Kaldis.

The Clippers went on to make it 6-1 by the end of the second period.

The Bulldogs made an attempt to get back into the game with a goal less than a minute into the third period and another with 10 minutes to go to make it 6-3 but the Clippers ended the game with a goal at 10:25 into the third to make it 7-3.
