The Alberni Valley Bulldogs will be returning home for Game 7 of the BCHL’s Coastal Conference Quarterfinals.

Pushed to the brink after a Game 5 loss at home, the Bulldogs put up a fight in Coquitlam on Saturday, April 13 to stave off elimination and win Game 6 by a score of 3-1.

Jacob Terpstra got things started for the Bulldogs in the first period with a powerplay marker, and Hayden Stavroff doubled the Bulldogs’ lead by the end of the first.

Coquitlam managed to cut that lead in half late in the second period, but that was the only goal they would score on the night. Bulldogs forward Braxton Buckberger added an insurance marker with the empty net goal at the end of the third.

Bulldogs goaltender Callum Tung made 41 saves in the win, while Coquitlam goaltender Adam Manji made 29 saves.

The Bulldogs will be back at the Alberni Valley Multiplex for Game 7 on Tuesday, April 16, where one team will move on and one will be eliminated from the playoffs. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.albernivalleybulldogs.ca or at the Bulldogs office.
