The Chilliwack Chiefs are on the brink of elimination after a Game 3 loss against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in Port Alberni.

It was the Chiefs who struck first on Tuesday night (April 23), with Connor Dick grabbing a powerplay goal after Bulldogs forward Braxton Buckberger took a holding penalty.

But the second period was all Bulldogs, with Samuel Leonard, Fischer O’Brien and Grayson Badger each adding goals for the home team.

In the third, Bulldogs forward Brady McIsaac and defender Caden Tremblay added to the Bulldogs’ lead. The home team won the game by a score of 5-1, meaning the Bulldogs now have a 3-0 lead over the Chiefs in the BCHL’s Coastal Conference Semifinals.

Bulldogs goaltender Callum Tung had another strong game, making 39 saves on the night. Chilliwack goaltender Vladimir Nikitin saved 26 of 31 shots.

Game 4 will take place on Wednesday, April 24 at the Alberni Valley Multiplex at 7 p.m.
