Janice Cross wins low gross for Alberni ladies golf

Janice Cross and Gayle Rhodes claimed club championship bragging rights in the 18-hole ladies’ division last week.

Cross won first low gross, followed by Patsy Gauthier in second and Barb Sheare in third.

Rhodes was tops on the net side, followed by Kathy White in second and Shirley Goodman in third.

In the nine-hole low handicap group Kathy Toms won low gross, Kath Stolth won low net and Claudia Romaniuk had the lowest putts. In the high handicap group Carol Jaworski had her best nine-hole score ever to win low gross. Congrats, Carol.

Mary Ann Maddison and Lois Robinson tied for low net and there was a three-way tie for the low putts between Betty Adair, Carol Jaworski and Mary Ann Maddison.

Pars were had by Claudia Romaniuk, Carol Jaworski, Louise Berlinski, Nancy Blair, Gayle Calli and Kath Stolth. Betty Adair, Gayle Calli and Claudia Romaniuk had chip-ins.

For the 18-hole ladies, Janice Cross won low gross with an 87, Carol Hastings won low net with 67.  In the ball sweep Barb Sheare won the KP on No. 1 and Gayle Rhodes won on No. 13.
